The jobs are the point

Real work, building real skills, since 1987.

Lasercraft is a not for profit Australian Disability Enterprise, or ADE, set up in 1987 to provide long term supported employment for people with disability on the NSW Central Coast. More than 150 people have trained and worked here over that time. The work is real commercial work with real deadlines, made for paying customers in our West Gosford workshop.

Your awards are the product. Their jobs are the point.

Supported employment at Lasercraft, in four parts

  1. The work

    Supported employees work across the whole operation: administration, manufacturing and distribution. On the production floor that means learning to operate machinery and lasers, assembling and finishing pieces, packing products and handling mail.

    Nobody is parked on one task. Everyone starts with simpler work and moves to more complex jobs as their skills grow, learning each new task alongside a team member who already knows it. Some supported employees have completed leadership training and now mentor and supervise others.

    Supported employees also elect two of their own as employee representatives each year. The representatives report to the board of directors and help plan the social calendar.

  2. Thinking about working here

    Supported employment at Lasercraft is for people with disability on the Central Coast. Supported employment requires NDIS. Lasercraft is a Registered NDIS provider, and support at work runs alongside your own NDIS plan.

    In your first months you set employment goals with us, and family or carers are welcome in that conversation. From there the job grows with you: new tasks, new machines, new responsibility, at your pace.

  3. What it means for your business

    Every piece leaving the workshop is made by a team that includes supported employees. When you buy awards or contract manufacturing from Lasercraft, you are putting real commercial work in front of that team, and the record of where the money goes is public.

      Certified by Social Traders, which verifies Lasercraft as a social enterprise for business and government buyers with social procurement targets.
